Parents are a very important piece to the "Athletic Triangle". Along with the coaches, you are the foundation to your child's role in their athletic sport. Your role in your student athletes participation in interscholastic sports can be very crucial to their success and failures they may encounter.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has designed some learning aids to help you get a clearer picture on how we can all help your child succeed in interscholastic sports.

Please visit NFHSLearn.com for Parent website and view the many different FREE courses to help understand your child's athletic world and how your contribution can play a major part.

Fundraisng Idea 2024

So the team has been braining storming on ideas for a fundraiser table at games. We can build to have inventory of shirts and such with some of our famous chants like "GreenWave Shake It Up!" But a few came up with a wonderful idea of selling cheer bows!
We have noticed that our other girls' team have taken a liking to wearing bows during their games/meets. There bows are usually just stings of ribbon with no special style to them. Crush makes their own bows anyway so why not dress up our girls' sports teams with desired bows as well! We can make designed bows for volleyball, soccer, basketball and more as well as customized bows for those die-hard sports moms who would love to sport her favorite athlete's #!

We can sell the bows at sporting events along with a soon built up inventory of shirts and such that have our famous tagline "Green Wave Shake It Up!" This can become a huge thing for Crush's fundraising and bond with our other Lady Wave sports teams!
Crush Squad Spring Clinic 2024 at GHS
2023-'24 Season has come to a close.
Crush Squad now has Spring Cheer & Stunt Training for 7th and GHS! During the Spring season Coach Carter puts on the cheer and stunt training program to help prepare future GHS student athletes for Crush Squad membership. Completing this training will give them the knowledge and skill they will need to start off right for next season of 2024-2025. They will have the confidence they need to start training with the official team in the Fall training season.

Spring training and sign ups will start March 2024.

CRUSH UNIFORMS!!
Please Help Our Team.
Uniforms go through wear and tear. Especially during athletic activities. Hems and zippers are loosened, holes develop and even stains from perspiration. It's important to keep up with maintenance to keep cost low on purchasing uniforms. We are happy with the style we have and would like to keep maintaining them as needed and buy new ones as needed. We are also keeping the idea of warm ups in mind. We currently do not have official team warm ups. We are now in hoods sweatshirts to keep warm during fall season sports. The team was very cold last fall. This year we hope to raise enough to purchase fleece lined team pnats to keep them warmer averaged at about $40 a member.
In all we are pretty content with our current uniform situation for what we were able to purchase. In the long run we are hoping to raise enough for durable, longer lasting uniforms by the trusting cheer company Varsity. Right now cheer equipment is our goal. Please see the article above or below for more information on team equipment.
Fundraisers and our donors are very important to our
cheer program. They are the very reasons this program runs
efficiently. Please help our team raise enough funds to
keep our community youth interested in positive programs.
Family members can donate to a member on our team. For more
details on family sponsorship please email,

Update: The team is in need of new poms and team bags.
If you would like to donate please email our booster for more
information or donate directly to the cheer program at GHS.

Cheerleaders Are Athletes That Train Too!
Like any sport that requires conditioning and strength training, cheerleading also has the same requirements for competition. And cheerleading has special training equipment to help our cheer athletes get the skills they need to compete in competition.
Competition is a high priority for Crush Squad. It is important for us to have the equipment for proper and safe training. Here is some of the training equipment we desire to use for our team to advance to competition.

Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp
at Brant Lake
TBA

Crush Squad was invited to attend UCA's overnight camp at Brant Lake in Upstate NY last year. The team desires to attend camp this upcoming summer. This camp provides the team with educational, fun and memorable technique and skills to become a solid cheer team.
They learn stunting techniques and safety, dance, private coaching, cheerleading safety awareness [cheerleading is ranked highest in high school athletic injuries according to the Pediatrics Association] and many more courses.
There is a 6/1 ratio of cheerleaders to chaperone. If we meet the ratio the cost is
$260/cheerleader. There is NO FEE for coaches/advisors/chaperone. If our coach is the only available to attend with Crush Squad then the fee would be $280/cheerleader. Parent group to chaperone encouraged.
Our girls would like to attend this camp as a team. It could assist the team in bonding and building team moral and ability to work well together. But most IMPORTANTLY, proper cheer techniques for a more accurate and SAFE team. For more information, contact us at booster@ghscrushsquad.org. We can discuss more about this at our meeting.
UPDATE: Camp will be available for members to attend. It is recommended that each member choose the individual fundraiser or family sponsorship option to cover camp costs.
